When will this ever stop? We face these same challenges year after year. Our leaders ought to wake up and smell the coffee

This shows absolute laxity on the part of the Kenyan government in acting on real time climate alerts from the met department to save the lives of vulnerable communities.

@peter_kamau so frustrating 😑

I recall the confusion from the government that they were not certain about their predictions that would have led to miscommunication
•

@johnte_ndeto A catastrophe that should never happen again.
•

@johnte_ndeto either we should be ready at all times because we all know this is the same place that always floods.

It is unfortunate how the government is silent over the same issue! They should be in front line to help the victims!

It seems no season is favourable in some areas🤔🤔this poses as healthy risk due to water borne diseases

It is unfortunate to hear that Kenyan villagers are suffering from floods. Flooding can have devastating effects on communities, causing displacement, damage to property, and loss of livelihoods. It is crucial for the government and humanitarian organizations to provide immediate assistance and support to those affected. Long-term measures such as improved infrastructure and early warning systems should also be implemented to mitigate the impact of future floods.

Its really sad to see the situation going from worse to worse, sometimes you don't even admire to watch news and agony our fellow Kenyans are going through in different places.

@patrick_kiash Hopefully, increased awareness can lead to more concerted efforts in providing aid.
•

This should not be happening yet there was enough time for preparedness.
•
•

@grace_njeri_804 now that it has already happened, these needs post event assessments ie.identifying the shortcomings, fostering improvements in both individual and governmental responses for more effective preparedness in the future.

The Kenyan government has been very reluctant to help out it's citizens. This is unacceptable while you're also taxing them heavily
•

@munene_mugambi But we also need to be accountable too in our actions.
•
•

Immediate support and long-term resilience measures are important to help them cope with the challenges and rebuild their lives.

@princess_nel_268 We had been alerted on possible floods during the El-nino rains. But somewhere someone did not prepare well, is it individuals??? Or the government??
•
•
50 w
@jane_wangui I would say it's a shared responsibility but in these scenario Individuals should have heed warnings and take necessary precautions, such as relocating to safer areas or fortifying their homes.
•

@jane_wangui It's common sense all over the world there is effects of climate change we were warned but the rate of ignorance that guys have is not good
•
50 w
@princess_nel_268 Exactly because the government can't reach out to everyone in a flash we also need to be responsible too.
•
•

@princess_nel_268 people should have heed to these warnings and relocate plus the government should provide amenities they require in their new homes
