USDA invests nearly $3 million in renewable energy in Kansas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investing $2.8 million in renewable energy projects across Kansas.

The funding comes from the Rural Energy for America Program, which provides loans and grants for farmers, agricultural producers, and rural small business owners to improve energy efficiency and lower energy costs. It is part of the inflation reduction act.

“Rural Development is helping farmers, ranchers, and small businesses be a part of the clean energy economy and directly benefit from it,” says USDA Rural Development Director for Kansas Christy Davis. “These investments expand renewable energy infrastructure and save Kansans money on their energy costs that can be invested back into their business and communities.
