German candidate for chancellery, Mr Laschet, secretly met with biggest coal polluter

Mr Laschet, head of the German Nordrhein-Westfalen and candidate for chancellor is known for his preferences when it comes to environmental protection. He chooses coal over people, money over nature. According to Greenpeace research, Mr Laschet met in 2019 with the bosses of RWE (the biggest coal polluter) in the midst of talks regarding the coal-phaseout-law in Germany. And guess what: The talks worked out very well for RWE 💰💰💰 Till the time comes, RWE still digs for coal in the region „Rheinisches Revier“, destroying nature, villages and everything else. Afterwards, RWE will receive billions for the shutdown of its main coal plants. The article is unfortunately in German. But the facts are there. https://www.greenpeace.de/themen/energiewende-fossile-energien/kohle/informelle-treffen

Go Greens! I really hope the people of Germany don’t get lured by the promise of wealth from the fossil fuel fools.

The problem with the coal exit is that Germany want's to also remove a clean and steady source of energy from the grid, with there nuclear exit. Germany will use coal until 2038. If Laschet get's to be premier. his coalition firstly has to overturn that exit and then increase the phaseout of coal. www.saveger6.de

Really hope the Greens win the election. It’s definitely possible.

Not according to the latest polls. The other one, Mr Scholz (SPD) is taking the lead. Honestly I don’t understand my fellow Germans. The flooding and the wildfires this year should be obvious enough. The Greens remain on a 17% level.

@Aterrahe If the SPD are like British Labour under Starmer then Germany are probably not in for a particularly good future if they win.

The greens and SPD don't really have complete solutions, they do have a lot of fluff/ideology. What coalition will be most effective, hard to say.
