By 2050, there's a potential for 200 million tonnes of solar panel waste. While renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, tidal among others are crucial, they aren't without challenges, including the need for effective disposal and recycling. Recognizing this, the world's first facility fully capable of recycling solar panels, reclaiming up to 99% of materials including silver and copper, will soon open in France. Emphasizing the importance of innovation and investment in recycling solutions for renewable energy components, it's clear that we need to plan for a future devoid of fossil fuels.
