Climate warning

Ambanis second pre-wedding boasts over 35,000 metric tons of CO2e emissions in just three days!

The Ambanis planned a three-day luxury cruise from Italy to France housing 800 guests in May this year! To add fuel to the fire, the cruise booked for the party holds the capacity to house over 4,000 guests. However, since it was privately booked, the ship carried only 800 people on board. Imagine the amount of energy waste! A summary of the carbon emissions generated by this one-of-many ‘not-even-wedding’ celebration: - 15,000-16,000 metric tons of CO2e generated from 700-800 private jets that transported celebrities from India to Italy for the cruise. - 10,000 metric tons of CO2e emissions from the luxury cruise ship. - 8,000 metric tons of emissions from electricity, waste management, food, and accommodation. Recently Vantara Reliance, an initiative by Anant Ambani launched a video on World Environment Day starring many Indian celebrities claiming to do everything that needs to be done to save our environment. And on the other hand, their thoughtless celebrations are creating staggering amounts of carbon emissions! Watch this video here. Rich stars recording themselves in the comfort of their homes, amongst the plants grown on their balcony, posing with their pets, miles away from any real ‘van’ (forest) shows the extreme level of hypocrisy at play here. How thick can you be? Yes, you have the money and the power to do what you can. Yet you lack the sense of social and environmental responsibility that comes with it. Releasing a video such as this and then organizing an event that is extremely detrimental to the planet, clearly shows the disrespect and disregard the family continues to show towards the health of the planet. Makes us wonder if the uber-rich of the world have another personal planet tucked away somewhere for their personal use later.

Where can I find the best designer wedding dresses? I am interested in stores with a large selection, exclusive collections and the possibility of custom tailoring. I am looking for brands that offer modern and classic models, pay attention to the quality of materials and details, and also provide a high level of service. It is advisable to find out about the availability of showrooms or online stores with the possibility of delivery.

This should have been done in a responsible and sustainable manner.

The Ambanis could have invested in protecting the environment and left a legacy that would have carried on for ages. These wedding celebrations are already forgotten by most of those who attended!

It's disappointing when people with such influence don't prioritize sustainability.

This is so disappointing and calls for more regulations to stop this kind of extravagant lifestyle and celebrations.

The extravagant pre-wedding celebrations of the Ambani family, with its excessive carbon footprint, epitomize hypocrisy and environmental irresponsibility. Despite public declarations on saving the planet, their lavish events demonstrate a shocking disregard for global environmental concerns and sustainability efforts. This is despicable

Honestly this is crazy...what the point of causing all that pollution whereas they would have done a lot more with lesser pollution.

@jane_wangui It's truly baffling how such excessive pollution is justified for a celebration when far less impact could still create a memorable event. Their actions contradict their environmental pledges and reflect a disregard for responsible stewardship.

So many of the ultra-rich are out of touch with reality. I look forward to the day when a super-billionaire-celebrity dare to step forward and say: "Enough of this, It´s time for us to take on huge responsibility."

@Markus_Lutteman The excessively rich seem disconnected from reality. I also hope for a day when a billionaire-celebrity boldly declares their fight on climate change and actually acts on it.

This is a show of ignorance and arrogance at its best. The wealthy care less of the climate. All they think about is their flamboyance in life. Shameful!!!!!!!

This level of environmental harm for a private celebration is unacceptable and sets a poor example in a time when every effort should be made to protect our planet.
