BasiGo, the Kenyan electric bus supplier, is extending its reach to Rwanda with the launch of BasiGo Rwanda in collaboration with AC Mobility. The company plans to deliver 200 electric buses to Rwanda by the end of 2024, with the initial fleet expected in Kigali by October 2023. Supported by a USD 1.5 million grant from USAID, BasiGo's electric bus pilot program aims to test the cost-effectiveness and operational viability of electric public transport in Kigali. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainable transportation solutions and reduce carbon emissions in the fight against climate change.
