For choosing Shell as a long term sponsor
Yesterday, British Cycling, the national governing body for cycling sport in Great Britain, announced its latest long-term partnership, and it's no one else than the fossil fuel giant: Shell. Quite a controversial (and bad) choice for an organisation that is supposed to encourage one of the most environmentally friendly transport modes. "This new partnership will see a shared commitment to; supporting Great Britain’s cyclists and para-cyclists through the sharing of world-class innovation and expertise; accelerating British Cycling’s path to net zero" 🤡 While the company is burning the planet, investing billions in oil and gas projects and making record profits while many British people cannot heat their houses, this nice little PR campaign is supposed to clean their image?
