Novotel has partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in a three-year agreement to protect and restore the world’s oceans. WWF France will provide technical expertise to Novotel’s 580 hotels. The partnership will focus on:
Reducing marine pollution and ocean acidification
Fighting overfishing and promoting sustainable fishing models
Increasing scientific knowledge and research for ocean health
Implementing sustainable seafood policies and supply chains
Raising awareness among guests and employees about the importance of ocean preservation
Sponsoring critical WWF ocean-related conservation projects, including tracking marine turtles in the Asia Pacific
WWF will conduct site visits to Novotel hotels to assess operations and procurement data, providing recommendations for improvements. Karelle Lamouche of Accor emphasized the ambition to champion sustainability globally through this partnership, while Yann Laurans of WWF France highlighted the importance of restoring ocean health for the benefit of biodiversity and humanity.
