Liberia to benefits first Solar Farm and Mount Coffee Expansion value at US$96M

The government of Liberia with funding from the World Bank, West Regional is expected to construct Liberia first about solar farm and expand the Mount Coffee Hydropower Plan from 88mw to 126mw.Addressing the press in after the climaxed of the assessment tour of the Mount Coffee Hydropower Plan dam and location for the country first solar farm by the World Bank delegation, Corporate Communication Director of Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) Philip Farley said solar farm if constructed would produce 20mw while the St. Paul hydropower dam (SP2) and produce about 200 -250mw.The objective of the delegation visit to the Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant is to gathering information and assessment on the exact location for the construction of the Solar Farm and the expansion of the Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant.The objective of the delegation was to see the exact location of the project and have joint in-house engagement and brief on the construction of the Solar Farm and the Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant expansion.Farley explained that the Mount Coffee expansion project is worth US$ 96M, stressing that it is intended for the expansion of the Mount Coffee and the Solar Energy farm Project.
