Enough with fossil fuels, Pope says in latest climate appeal.
Pope Francis has urged people to give up fossil fuels with bravery and bemoaned the ignorance of previous generations when it comes to preserving the environment and ensuring world peace. Speaking to a group of 1,000 young people, some of whom were budding economists and others engaged in environmental activism, he was in Assisi, the city where his namesake saint was born. He commended their efforts and exhorted them to fight to protect the environment and make the global economy more considerate to the underprivileged.
