Fossil fuel lobbyists will have to identify themselves when registering for Cop28

For nearly three decades the United Nations has been holding global climate summits known as COPs, which stands for Conference of the Parties. Delegates fly in to the chosen city from around the world for a few days for a renewed effort to find ways to prevent or ameliorate the worst effects of climate change. Experience has shown progress can hinge on a variety of factors — including which country is hosting. Skeptical eyebrows were raised when an oil state, the United Arab Emirates, was selected for this year’s COP28. Meanwhile, the need for action has only gotten more vital.

This highlights the necessity of addressing the climate crisis comprehensively, regardless of a country's current energy profile.

A step in the right direction- how COP28 ever got to be in United Arab Emirates in the first place is an example of how powerful the fossil fuel lobbyists are. Al Jaber has a lot to prove! He's heading the COP28 and still planning on oil and gas expansion!

This is a great way to call for accountability from companies using fossil fuels.
