The signing of the cooperation protocol was attended by Ambassador / Mostafa Sherbiny, Chairman of the Chair in Carbon Footprint and Sustainability, Prof. Dr. Hanem El Sheikh, Member of the Board of Directors of the Scientific Chair for Sustainability and Carbon Footprint, Dr. Mona Samir, Environmental Expert, and Dr. Rashad Abdel Latif, President of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility and Vice President of Helwan University. Previously, Dr. Randa Rizk, Secretary General of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, Consul of Egypt in Qatar, Uzbekistan, member of the Presidential Council and former UN advisor, and Dr. Mohamed Azzam, Assistant Secretary General of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility. The cooperation aims to form a strategic partnership between the two parties to provide cultural and scientific support to individuals and society through their participation in trainings, seminars and conferences that lead to their reaching net zero carbon through joint activities related to climate and the environment. The cooperation also aims to unify the efforts of the two parties to jointly work on the development and training of all those interested in climate change whose activities cause the release of greenhouse gases. The cooperation protocol included agreement to support and participate in the climate ambassadors initiative, "One Million Youth Volunteers for Climate Adaptation", the carbon neutrality initiative and the water footprint initiative in which the United Nations participates. It announced this partnership by publishing these initiatives on its central website, in addition to participating in many activities. events and initiatives. The cooperation protocol provides for taking proactive measures to confront disasters and crises that may occur due to climate change, developing joint plans and scenarios, and seeking international parties concerned with climate change to support vulnerable groups affected by climate change and gender. The chair of carbon footprint and sustainability at the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization “ALECSO” works to promote environmental and climate action activities, and the Voluntary Team for Humanitarian Action has obtained quality accreditation in training and has extensive experience in climate change training. The Arab Council for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development aims to be a member of the United Nations Global Compact and the first council in Egypt that aims to be a platform for community development in the Arab region to exchange experiences and help in the development process. The Council carries out a number of activities aimed at spreading the collective awareness of society, including a magazine Monthly and professional trainings for community capacity building as well as the annual awards ceremony for the best CSR practice in the region. This comes within the framework of the two parties' keenness to support the Egyptian state's efforts in the field of climate action, achieving sustainable development, working to reach net zero carbon emissions, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and qualifying society to accelerate the achievement of the national strategy for climate change through the development of human resources and environmentally friendly technology in the field. areas of awareness.
