ExxonMobil accused of greenwashing

The oil giant ExxonMobil has been accused of greenwashing on claims that it's carbon capture project is reducing emissions. It's boss Paul Greenwood has admitted that the firm needs a magic wand to deliver to keep its green pledges, Exxon has refused to commit its own money to build it and instead has focused on investment and increasing diesel production where it spends £800m to produce extra 6m litres a day. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/31/exxonmobil-accused-of-greenwashing-over-carbon-capture-plan-it-failed-to-invest-in

This is outrageous! ExxonMobil talking a big game on carbon capture but not following through with action is classic #greenwashing. Where's the investment in real solutions, Paul Greenwood?

They should be held accountable for their actions & to ensure that they prioritize sustainable practices and investments in line with global environmental goals.

Them refusing to invest their own funds into meaningful solutions speaks volumes about their priorities, prioritizing profit over genuine environmental stewardship.

@princess_nel_268 Indeed, the lack of commitment from certain companies to invest in meaningful solutions speaks to their priorities and suggests that profit is being prioritized!!⚠

This is quite discouraging... instead of investing on green energy they are puting more emphasis on non renewable sources of fuel..this should stop.
