Repsol achieved a milestone in decarbonising transport with the launch of a renewable fuels facility in Cartagena, Spain. It is the first in the region to produce 100 per cent renewable fuels.
The facility, which has an investment of €250 million and a capacity of 250,000 tons per year, produces renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel for various transport modes. It is derived from organic waste, such as cooking oil, for cost-effective decarbonisation.
Producing renewable diesel and aviation fuel from organic waste is a smart and environmentally friendly solution

This 250,000-ton capacity facility is a big step in the right direction. Hopefully this is just the beginning and we see more investment in renewable fuels.
