The destruction of unsold goods could be forbidden in Scotland
The Scottish government has drafted a New Circular Economy Bil to be published in May that could forbid the destruction of unsold, durable goods.
Proposals for a ban will address public concerns about unsold products being destroyed or ending up in landfills.
Circular Economy Minister Lorna Slater said: "It is absolutely senseless for perfectly good products to end up in landfills. Rather than being wasted in landfills or incinerated, they should be reused or repurposed [...] "We are living in a climate emergency. When goods go to landfills without having even been used once, we don't just waste the product - we also waste all the energy and raw materials that went into making it."
Way to go Scotland! I hope the ban gets implemented.

A very logical move that will help a lot with our overconsumption.

The creation of this law will give the circular economy concept a big push.
