Climate warning

No funding for drilling of oil in Turkana.

Don't look for investors to fund Tullow's oil project

The twin exits by TotalEnergies and Africa Oil from Kenya's Turkana oil project have spooked potential explorers as the government turns to India in search of deep pocketed investors to keep commercial production dreams alive,Energy cabinet secretary Davis chirchir through the support of government of Kenya have intiated talks with the indian government so that it can support the Tullow's oil operations in Kenya. They feel if they don't find investors, the project is going to fail. They should not be looking for investors to continue drilling the oil, instead they should be looking for investors to help in transition to clean energy and say No to oils.Davis should abort this mission to look for support and instead the government should shift to clean energy.

I hate how Tullow Oil company is masquerading as a investment company just to encourage more oil drilling in Kenya. It isn't right to continue opening more oil fields whatsoever.

What an irony! how can we speak of planting 15bn trees this year and support fossil fuels at the same time? This is where seriousness is not in the picture at all. #nosupporttodrilling

Its time the government of Kenya lets us know its stand on matters climate. One minute they are all about green energy and the next minute they are drilling oil.

Kenya government must walk the talk, anticipating to transit to clean energy and hearing about such a move is disappointing.

Why is the government of Kenya playing double standards on matters climate change?. They have an ambitious plan to plant 15 billion trees and then want to continue with drilling of oil.

@tabitha_kimani they must play part in all sectors, not only planting trees but also saying NO to any activity that pollutes the environment in this case oils being one of them
