A solution to significantly reduce livestock methane was developed a few years ago, but the step toward scale and commercialization hasn’t been fast enough.
👇A review that talked about how Asparagopsis, a seaweed that grows in the sea near Australia and New Zealand, reduces the methane created by farm animals.

Today, a small dairy in Tasmania is stocking supermarket shelves with what it says is the world's first branded milk produced by cows fed with seaweed that makes them emit lower levels of environmentally damaging methane gas.
Since February, family-owned Tasmanian dairy producer Ashgrove has been feeding around 500 cows - a fifth of its total - an oil containing a seaweed extract that reduces the methane released by a cow's digestion, said co-owner Richard Bennett.
The cows produce around 10,000 liters of milk a day, a portion of which is bottled as "Eco-Milk" and sold across Tasmania including at Woolworths, Australia's largest supermarket chain.
Eco-milk is a test of whether consumers will pay extra for dairy products that have a lower environmental impact. A two-litre bottle sells for A$5.50 ($3.67), twenty-five cents more than normal full cream milk. The sales were going well, but the company hasn’t yet decided whether to expand the project.
Ashgrove’s move is a good start to improving climate-friendly dairy market coverage, but more effort is needed and can be made. Price is a critical factor in expanding the project. But the company can think long-term, improve its marketing strategy, and make bold decisions in this critical period.

This is interesting.coming up with measures to reduce methane from cows and not at the expense of the products is brilliant.

Great initiative. This initiative not only addresses environmental concerns but also tests consumer willingness to invest in climate-friendly products, shaping future market dynamics.
