Microplastics are tiny pieces of plastic that remain in nature for many years. Numerous people are taking initiatives to solve this problem. One of these initiatives is producing biodegradable plastic. This type is more environmentally friendly than conventional plastics: they can be decomposed with the help of microorganisms instead of being fragmented into microplastics.
But unfortunately, biodegradable plastic is not always as biodegradable as we may think! This is because biodegradability depends on environmental circumstances and is different in a laboratory than in real life.
So, a good reason not to litter, even when it is biodegradable plastic

Indeed the best solution is, not to litter then everywhere

Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity play an important role in decomposing 'biodegradable plastics'. Surface area is also a factor when mulching

Plastics components cant decompose completely and humans are left with no choice but to stop their production and look for alternatives.

What to do with dog bags? Are they not good enough if they are biodegradable??

@paula_valencia They are definitely better than non-biodegradable plastic. But I would suggest to not litter them either, just to make sure they don't pollute.
