Scottish spaceport near protected areas approved despite local opposition

      The area proposed for the spaceport is extremely important for wildlife and hosts several protected species that are sensitive to human disturbance and are listed in Annex I of the Birds Directive which means they are be given particular legal protection.

        This is definitely unreasonable for Scotland... There are some things we can mess with and there are others which we can't.. protect the ecosystems first..

          Local protestors are worried about the effects on the blanket peat bog and the transparency of the financial side of the enterprise . The blanket bog is protecting the World's atmosphere by reducing CO2.
