Bisphenol A (or BPA) is a chemical used in different plastic products. Many studies showed, that there is a connection between BPA and serious illnesses like cancer or infertility.
Some receipts have a layer of plastic, which could contain this chemical.
If you take a look at the back of a receipt, you can see if it is BPA-free.
