The current fuel crisis we are experiencing in Kenya is what happens when we put all our eggs in one unreliable basket. When the whole country relies on fossil fuels to operate, there's bound to be an enormous impact when there's a shortage of it. The only way to avoid this and any other such occurrences in future is to ensure that we can develop other clean sources of energy. As a country, we have wind power, we can harvest this as much as possible and also utilise solar energy especially considering a large part of our country receives high degrees of sunlight everyday. North Eastern should already have a solar panels belt if our government was a little more responsible and creative.
The only way we're going to beat the menace of fossil fuels as a country is by moving from it. I know it's not easy but it's what has to be done.
