Planning to convert a hydroelectric plant into Sweden's largest battery

Vattenfall are requesting the envirnomnental permits to turn one of their hydroelectric plants into being able to store water to convert it into energy at a later time. It would be "Swedens largest battery" and it would help smooth out energy use from renewable energy sources that dont always produce electricity when it is to be consumed. Hope this is part of a trend that leads to a more resilient electrical grid and to more solar and wind being installed in Sweden.

With Sweden aiming for 100% renewable electricity by 2040, large-scale energy storage is essential for reducing reliance on fossil fuels and increasing resilience in the energy system.
