North Macedonia. Severe fires have engulfed several Balkan countries since July 14. Forests are burning in North Macedonia and Bulgaria. The reason is abnormal heat, drought and strong winds. North Macedonia has declared a state of emergency for a month due to forest fires. Firefighting resources from neighboring Serbia, as well as Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Montenegro and Turkey are being deployed to fight the fire.
