EPA approved ingredients with sky high lifetime cancer risk

The EPA approved a component of boat fuel made from discarded plastics that the agency own risk formula determines was so hazardous everyone exposed to the substance continually over a lifetime would be expected to develop cancer .current and former EPA scientist said that threat level is unheard of. It is a million times higher than that the agency usually considers acceptable for new chemicals six times worse than the risk of lung cancer from a lifetime of smoking. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/aug/04/epa-boat-fuel-cancer-risk-chevron-mississippi

EPA should conduct safety reviews before allowing new chemicals products on the market.
