Pilkington fires a glass kiln successfully with hydrogen

The UK glassmaker Pilkington has carried out the first successful trials involving firing its kilns with "low-carbon hydrogen" instead of natural gas to make sheet glass: a development that aims to reduce carbon emissions from building construction: https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/2084160-world-first-as-100-hydrogen-fired-at-pilkington-glass-plant Note, however, that the hydrogen supplier was BOC (now part of Linde) which produces both blue and green hydrogen. The source is not specified in this article. Funding was provided by the UK Government's HyNet Industrial Fuel Switching project.
