HUMMING BIRD SERIES: THE RISE OF THE HUMMING BIRDS

Warnings of the repercussions of climate change due to the increase of Carbon IV Oxide gas in the atmosphere have sounded since the late 1950s. Though some organizations like Greenpeace started taking action in the 1980s, it wasn't until the 1990s that many became proactive. This was the beginning of rise of the Humming Bird spirit.
In Kenya today, drought is the norm in several counties, while perishing crops due to unforeseen rainfall is the norm in others. Poverty and starvation, is a common denominator. The diverse change in climate pattern, sadly, has claimed and will continue to claim many lives. Our home is burning. We are, by default, part of the problem. However, being part of the solution, is a choice.
Even though all news seems depressing at this point, since the late Wangari Maathai set ablaze the humming bird trail in Kenya, more and more people have embraced the humming bird spirit. They have decided to do the little/much they can to save our planet. To save our home from the impending destruction. Today, 2022, The Millennial Environmentalists are sharpening the edges. Individuals and organized groups alike, are being brought together to streamline these efforts and optimize the impact of the results. Through The Humming Bird Awards, these groups and people, are becoming bigger and their results, more precise.
The Humming Bird Awards (H.B.A) recognizes, builds and networks individuals, institutions and organized groups upholding the humming bird spirit. Through giving the a platform to share their stories, to grow and to network, H.B.A creates diversity in expertise and ensures creation of impact-oriented and sustainable projects. More so, By sharing stories and awarding our champions, it spreads hope and inspires more people to become part of the solution in the middle of crisis. To be champions. To be humming birds.
Through the Humming Bird Awards program, The Millennial Environmentalists seeks to grow, not just plant, more than half million trees at the onset of long rains in 2023. Are you an aspiring Humming Bird? Would you like to be part of this great project? Get in touch through the contact posted below.
