The climate crisis is considered a ”threat multiplier” by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), since it affects and accelerates threats in so many sectors, such as food production, sustainable development, economy, forestry, tourism, security and peace. Now Ulf Kristersson, likely to become Sweden's new prime minister, has nominated the outspoken climate denier Björn Söder of the Sweden Democrats to be the new chair of the Permanent Delegation of Sweden to the OSCE. In 2019 Björn Söder said ”the climate crisis is just a big hoax” during a political debate, and he has repeatedly downplayed or questioned climate science ever since. This is such a disgrace for Sweden, and also a mockery of the work of the OSCE. Dear Ulf Kristersson, please rethink this embarrassing nomination. We need doers, not deniers. I don't understand politicians, who are supposed to make smart decisions now and for the future, instead making decisions that even small children understand are not good.

This is a very bad decision. How can one talk about security without talking about climate change??? (this is a rethoric question: you can't)

This is a shameful decision, but I feel that it's only the beginning...
