SGR and Nairobi ExpressWay have helped to reduce carbon emissions on our roads.

In Kenya, the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) has achieved safe railway operations and transported over 27 million tonnes of cargo, reducing traffic on main roads and carbon emissions. The Nairobi Expressway has improved traffic flow, reduced fuel consumption, and incorporated sustainability features. Additionally, investors are assembling electric vehicles, and the government is introducing guidelines for charging stations to support the growth of electric vehicles. These efforts are seen as steps toward a more sustainable and secure transportation future in Kenya. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/opinion/article/2001483635/sgr-and-nairobi-expressway-have-helped-to-reduce-carbon-emissions-on-our-roads

The success of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the Nairobi Expressway in reducing carbon emissions is a commendable step in Kenya's pursuit of sustainable transportation. By efficiently transporting cargo, improving traffic flow, and embracing electric vehicles, these initiatives contribute to a greener and more secure transportation future. Such efforts align with global climate change goals and emphasize the importance of innovation in mitigating emissions.

I conquer with that ... as a country We need to prioritize public transportation and as time goes by the SGR should be expanded to other parts of the country and be electrified

The SGR certainly has in regards to cargo movement from the port of Mombasa to Nairobi and other places. Personally, not sure about the Expressway's role in all this

@munene_mugambi By improving traffic flow and doing away with stop-go traffic, the Nairobi Expressway has greatly helped motorists reduce fuel use, hence materially reducing carbon emissions and improving sustainability.🤔
