Reminding adults about rights of children on Day 7 for meaningful actions

First 1000 days of a newborn is vital for his/her entire life to breath healthy and to enjoy quality lives. This fundamental rights of unborn and newborns are violated when adults allow air pollution to continue to cause silent mayhem. One UNICEF study reports 8.1 Trillion US$ is being drained out through the serious health impacts, which are caused by air pollutants. The name of the report is :Air pollution a threat to children’s right. 93% of children below 18 years age across golbe is badly impacted by air toxics. It seems that negotiations are on for protection of the future of our children and their children but the very health of these children are remaining bare open to abuse by killer - air toxics.

This report also shows every one-degree temperature rise increase preterm birth and still berth by 5%. Temperature rise is causing dehydration on breast milk. This report alerts us about the impacts, which are caused during pregnancy due to poor or severe air quality

Climate change induced frequent draught are affecting the nutrient supply for children. Less nutrition means less immunity and more diseases. Climate change is affecting the future at its very core.

This report is also blatantly showing the social inequity. A child at Subsaharn Africa in 100 times more likely to die than a child in high income country due to air pollution.

Confidence of parties 29 at Baku Azerbaijan is being hailed as finance Cop. The objective is to organize climate advocates, conversations, tap funds for climate action. Baku is bringing inconvenient facts and reports into our notice for consensus building and for finalizing climate action . A host of excellent scientific reports by most reputed climate science institutes and organizations are being launched at Baku. However this one report by UNICEF should be noticed with more seriously attention. Actions against climate change and air pollution are being initiated not only to fight for ourselves but also for our children and their children . This report has been mentioned by the UNICEF representative (Aate, apologies in advance if name is not understood properly) during one open enriching session on the “Power of health in unlocking climate action”. The session was organised by Welcome trust at one event in UN climate change pavilion at cop 29. In this event, energy specialist Jane, youth leader Doctor Harshita from South India, cooking fuel change advocate from Caroline from Africa- everyone spoke with authenticity and showed through their speeches how climate change is impacting our physical and mental health.

Sweating in hot humid sultry weather often interfere with our body fluid balance and reduce productivity. Excessive rain, thundershower, cyclones disrupt our stability, our mental peace and wellness more directly. Eco-anxiety is now a term used by physicians and medical preparations. Poor quality of cooking fuels severely affects the health of women and children as indoor air pollution agent. Each of these needs to be understood and addressed through well funded action. India and other developing countries are coming out of this phase of indoor air pollution by replacing kerosene and other toxic fuels through introduction of solar/electric equipment, smokeless chullas or LPG fired ovens. African countries are still struggling to get over this phase, but financing is needed for country level cooking fuel transitions.

However, dedicated attention should be drawn about this report, which has been mentioned by UNICEF representative because 8.1 trillion money is being drained out. In the process, it is stealing away the one of the main purposes of the fight against air pollution and children health. It draining out the children - our future.

WDHT is fighting with all its strength to move 7+ trillion from fossil fuel industries.

Studies showed Lead deters IQ (Intelligent Quotient) for school children and this was the main reasons for unanimous ban of use of Lead in petrol in India long back. The report indicates that Lead is most probably returning to the blood level through another source-receptor pathway. Unscientific recycling of Lead acid batteries. Actions need to be taken immediately to find the root causes and to remove it without delay. Otherwise, stronger artificial intelligence over weakened human minds can open another frontier of struggle for humans. Dr Harshita and Yango are coalescing 80000 children for demanding their right to health. Global Future Act has been already signed by adults.

Clock is ticking.

This is great.. educating the public on the various issues is usually one of the best methods of ensuring that some change is realized.

Air pollution violates fundamental human rights, including the right to health and a safe environment. By failing to act decisively, societies are effectively denying unborn and newborns their chance to thrive.
