PepsiCo were by far the largest named polluters, as 17% of plastic waste in the Buffalo River was found with their brand names on it. We just came off a Zoom about this lawsuit & 222 people worldwide took part. How can PepsiCo have a 73% green rating here, when they're NOT helping to clean up the mess they made profits from for decades?

Big conglomerates should be sued and directed to stop operating with such level of impunity.

The lawsuit against PepsiCo by New York state underscores the growing legal scrutiny on major corporations for their role in plastic pollution. With PepsiCo identified as the single largest contributor, the case highlights the urgent need for accountability in addressing environmental concerns. While PepsiCo claims transparency in its efforts to reduce plastic use, the legal action signifies a broader trend, as evidenced by similar accusations against Coca-Cola, Danone, and Nestle, emphasizing the industry-wide importance of genuine commitment to sustainable practices amid increasing climate change concerns.
