In Mali, persistent rainfall has caused disastrous flooding, submerging the capital Bamako and other areas, particularly those near the Niger River. As of October 2024, this catastrophe has resulted in 77 fatalities and left at least 148 individuals injured. The floods have caused widespread destruction to homes, infrastructure, and agriculture, resulting in damaged roads and depleted food supplies.
