In areas with lots of concrete/asphalt, temperatures are higher and flooding is worse. The biggest cause of pavement? Roads and parking lots. The solution to this? Pressure on leaders to invest in transit. Pressure on cities to eliminate minimum parking requirements. Use bikes and walking for local trips.
