In the vast expanse of oceans that cover over 70% of the Earth's surface, the Gulf of Thailand is ranked as one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems in the world. It has propelled us to become a significant exporter of marine products, consistently ranking in the top 10 globally for years. But now, everything is changing.
Previously, fishermen could venture out 3 kilometers, spend 4 hours, and catch enough fish. However, nowadays, they need to travel up to 10 kilometers and spend around 8 hours to achieve the same result.
The sea that has sustained generations of fishermen and provided delicious seafood to over 66 million Thai lives is slowly slipping into decline. As the global temperature continues to rise, the oceans are absorbing heat to the point of saturation, signaling us through events like heatwaves, coral bleaching, and the noticeable decline in marine life. This is the ocean's final gasp, a reality discovered by scientists and felt by fishermen.

[Watch the series: "Our House is on Fire"]
It is a news documentary that sheds light on how climate change is setting our blue planet, which we call 'Earth,' ablaze. And for Thailand, ranked as the 9th most vulnerable country in the world, what challenges must we confront? If we don't start planning to extinguish the flames in our home starting today.
Thank you The Standard Sustain in partnership with Thailand Capital Development Funds for revealing the untold story of our journey through climate change.

I believe in the We Don't Have Time community.
Let's use the global knowledges for local management actions.
