“No place is truly untouched by climate change, anywhere in the world,” says Dave Reidmiller, Director of Climate Center, Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
Overview of a flooded city in the US

Asheville, a city in North Carolina has been termed a “climate haven” because of its cooler-than-normal temperatures in the South and a location far inland from the flooding-pummeled coasts.
It was considered an ideal place to escape the worst effects of global warming. So much so that the Asheville Citizen Times reported that the city is becoming overcrowded from climate-change migration.
However, all that seems to have changed now. The recent flooding in the city has proved that no place on the planet is safe from the effects of climate change.
Nicolas Zegre, director of the Mountain Hydrology Lab at West Virginia University says, “What happened in western North Carolina really speaks to the challenge of atmospheric warming generating heavier rainfall. That is a tremendous amount of water that has nowhere to go.”
It is high time to #MovetheMoney into green energy so we can mitigate the effects of climate change and soon!

It is crucial to admit that the idea of climate havens is a fallacy. As it stands, the part we play in addressing climate change could assure us of this dream world we want.

The Asheville flooding shows that no place is immune to climate change. Even so-called "climate havens" face extreme weather. It's a reminder to urgently invest in green energy and build resilience to mitigate future impacts. Time to reform guys

@annett_michuki Each region’s active role in adopting climate-friendly practices is vital for global efforts. Localized actions, such as transitioning to renewable energy, sustainable urban planning, and conserving ecosystems, can collectively mitigate climate change’s widespread impacts.

While no place remains unaffected by climate change, every region also has the ability to play a role in addressing it. Just as climate impacts cross boundaries, so too can our efforts to innovate, adapt, and work together.

@frankoh_kihm_080 Exactly! Despite the widespread effects of climate change, each region has the capacity to contribute to its mitigation. By fostering innovation, adapting practices, and collaborating across borders, we can collectively create solutions that transcend geographical limitations and drive global progress.
