🟣 Japan. #heat Japan is facing an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius in areas from Tokai to Kanto regions on Sunday. With the relentless heat showing no signs of abating, daytime temperatures are expected to soar above degrees Celsius, marking the first time this year for Japan to see over 200 locations experience extreme heat.
The number of heat stroke patients in Japan is reportedly rising rapidly as the summer heat wave continues. On Friday in Tokyo, 55 people aged between 23 and 90 were rushed to hospitals with suspected heat stroke. A record high in Tokyo was recorded the day before, with 99 people taken to hospital in one day due to heat illness.

🟣 Earth. #heat Last month was the hottest June on record across the globe, the EU’s climate monitor said Monday, capping half a year of wild and destructive weather from floods to heatwaves. Every month since June 2023 has eclipsed its own temperature record in a 13-month streak of unprecedented global heat, the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) said.

🟣 Argentina. #snow Extreme #cold in Southern Patagonia. The Santa Cruz River has frozen over, roads have been blocked by heavy snowfall, leaving around 300 people trapped in their cars and temperatures up to 25 degrees below zero.
The National Weather Service declared a "red level alert" for the province's mountainous terrain, which implies "high or extreme health impacts."
According to the province's agricultural council, more than 1,000,000 sheep and 40,000 cows are at risk from the extreme weather conditions. Authorities believe this is the most serious #storm in 60 years.
