USING AI to REDUCE FOOD WASTAGE

In the United States, food waste is created at such a high rate that around one-third of it ends up in landfills as opposed to people's stomachs. This results in excess manufacturing, packaging, storage, and delivery needs, all of which have a detrimental effect on global warming. According to a recent study that was published in the journal Science, 26% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide are attributable to the production of food.
Hungryroot, a business based in New York, is taking it a step further. The nine-year-old business uses artificial intelligence to serve precisely the right amount of food to a customer and to give a better tailored experience. Clients respond to a series of questionnaires regarding their dietary preferences, allergies, and overall well-being. They also respond to inquiries about when and how they cook. Based on their responses, Hungryroot's algorithm determines which shopping products and meals are most appropriate for each individual user.
CEO of Hungryroot Ben McKean told CNBC that the company has every capability to provide you with precisely the items you'll need for your week. Additionally, it provides you with easy recipes so you know exactly what to do with them. As a result, there is a considerable decrease in food waste among our clients.
