For achieving green energy with 59% of power mix in 2024

In 2024, Peru generated 63.6 TWh of electricity, marking a 2.4% increase from 2023, primarily driven by rising industrial electricity demand. Of this total, 61.7 TWh (97%) was supplied to the electricity market, while 1.9 TWh (3%) was produced for self-consumption in various sectors. Hydropower accounted for 32 TWh (50% of total generation), gas-fired plants contributed 24 TWh (38%), and non-conventional renewables surged by 47% to 5.8 TWh, with wind and solar power seeing significant growth.

This shows their commitment to shifting towards more sustainable energy sources, which could enhance energy security and support environmental goals in the long term.
