For making constructing pallets part of the circular economy
The Pallet Loop is a deposit-based supply chain solution that enables the recovery, repair and re-use of pallets in the UK construction sector.
In the UK alone, 18 million pallets are used every year, and around 6 000 acres of forests are harvested for this purpose. Less than 10 % of these pellets are reused.
By using a standardized and more durable pallet, which could also be recovered, repaired and re-used, the Pallet Loop estimates that timber usage could be reduced by 75 percent, which would also mean a 40 percent reduction in CO2 emissions.
There is a lot of wood and carbon to be saved here.

Smart solution. It is so many things we can reuse 100s of times that we throw away today. My own "life-hack" is that I re-use the same glass juice bottle I got once and refill it with concentrated juice. The taste is so much better compared to using a glass jug not made for juice.
