The Guardian has reveal shocking news that the UK water industry Plans to urgently tackle the sewage pollution crisis that has been delayed for 4 months might take more time. This is after UK water industry fail to give a publication date when the issue will be addressed. It is sad how the government have failed to keep its promise after government ministers in the previous year promised to urgently deal with the sewage overflow that is spilling in rivers and seas. This happend even after Water UK pledged to release £10bn for the national overflows plan. According to the Guardian the plan is unlikely be published by March, which is when the overflow statistics for the year will be published. This is disheartening since clean water is vital for human health and survival. On his part Labour’s shadow environment secretary, Steve Reed MP, has called out the government for letting such level of corruption be swept under the carpet. “This Conservative government has wilfully turned a blind eye to corruption at the heart of the water industry and broken yet another promise. Said MP Steve Reed. Source - the Guardian Read More: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/jan/17/uk-water-industrys-urgent-plan-to-tackle-sewage-pollution-delayed-by-four-months

This delay shouldn't be used as an excuse for further inaction. Immediate steps must be taken to minimize sewage overflows and protect public health.

Hi, Joseph Githinji. Thanks for posting a climate review on our platform. However, this review should not be directed to UK Water, but to a company or an organization that needs to be aware of this. The idea behind our climate reviews is to make companies and organizations aware that they could (and should) do better. If enough people agree to your review, we will contact the company and ask them to join the climate dialogue. Read more here: https://www.wedonthavetime.org/our-community#guide
