On September 10, 2024, Athens and surrounding regions were struck by sudden floods caused by storm "Athena." Torrential rains submerged the streets of Greece's capital, creating chaos and paralyzing traffic. Emergency services received thousands of calls, with people trapped in vehicles and water levels rising to car windows in some areas.
