**How the Heatwave is affecting the Indian Subcontinent??**
The prolonged #heatwave in April-May this year due to changing Climatic Conditions is showing its impact on various sectors in South Asia. These are a big cause of concern now and overtime with Scientists claiming it to be "A Horror Heatwave"
1) Record high temperatures of approximately 6 degrees higher than usual have been noticed across various parts in the country.
2)Outdoor workers especially farmers are badly hit with health impacts due to the heatwave.
3) Agriculture produce especially wheat has been affected in the northern part of India leading to reduced production and an indirect reason for a ban on wheat export.
4) Prices of vegetable produce has shot up including reduction in availability
5) The health sector already impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic is also pressurised with Heatwave health concerns
6) Landfills due to high methane levels have been set alit with fires due to temperatures soaring to almost 45 degrees and above.(in outerskirts of Delhi)
7) Increased incidences of power outages due to increased demand while supply dwindles from the thermal power industry.
These are just some of the impacts that have been recorded till now. Official death numbers caused are still being measured while the amount of environment degradation is still unknown. With time the extreme weather events shall rise thus increasing the #vulnerability and #risk .
Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation are an urgent need as these impact the #economy of the country and the world while developmental growth is restricted.

Yes it has increased over the years and will keep going up. Parts of the state of Kerala have already got earlier heavy rainfall & flooding while a Cyclone is raging on the eastern coast.
