Ambassador Mostafa Sherbiny: "COP 29" is an important opportunity for countries to present their updated national climate plans The global initiative "Climate Ambassadors at the United Nations", headed by Ambassador Mostafa Sherbiny, organized the "Road to COP29 in Solidarity for a Green World" forum at the Greater Cairo Library, in the presence of many experts, specialists and some civil society actors, on the occasion of the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties COP29 on Climate Change in Azerbaijan during the period from November 11 to November 22. On the sidelines of the forum, the Tourism Syndicate was honored with a shield presented by Dr. Howaid Farouk, Ambassador Mustafa El-Sherbiny and the Engineers Syndicate with a certificate of honor presented by Engineer Mamdouh Badawi to Ambassador Mostafa El-Sherbiny. Ambassador Mostafa El-Sherbiny, the international expert in sustainability and climate risk assessment and head of the Climate Ambassadors delegation of observers at COP29, consisting of twenty-five observers representing the Climate Union and the Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Work at COP29, confirmed that they will organize a delegated forum in the Blue Zone on November 28 at COP29, dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to adapt to climate change. Today's forum discussed COP29 topics from the rise in global temperatures that have reached record levels, and the impact of extreme weather phenomena on people around the world, as the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties will bring together leaders of governments, the business sector and civil society to find tangible solutions to the critical issue of our time. He added that this session will focus primarily on the new quantitative financing goal, as trillions of dollars are needed for countries to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect lives and livelihoods from the worsening impacts of climate change. Ambassador Al-Sharbiny, Chairman of the Climate Ambassadors Initiative, stated that the Board of Trustees of the initiative met and elected Dr. Fahad Nayef Al-Anzi as Secretary-General and Dr. Mahmoud Fawzy as Vice-Chair of the Global Initiative of Climate Ambassadors at the United Nations.
