France is lagging behind its climate targets on the development of renewable energies

According to a new report by Observ'ER, France is far from achieving its climate targets on developing renewable energies and is now lagging behind other European countries, and the gap isn't going to close any time soon and is likely to widen even further! ⚠️
On the positive side though, according to the report, the share of solar, wind, and hydro- power in France's electricity mix has reached an all-time high of 28% by 2022, which has enabled France to meet the 27% target set by the European Commission, albeit two years behind schedule...
This is a good beginning but France needs to do better... and faster!

It's promising to see France making strides in increasing the share of solar, wind, and hydro-power in its electricity mix, reaching an all-time high of 28% by 2022.

France may be lagging behind its climate targets on the development of renewable energies, but it's not too late for the country to take action.

Whereas I comment France for the steps they have taken in renewable energy , I implore them not to give up on the casuse as we cannot afford to go back.

France can do better, they only have to hit the set targets and make more commitments towards developing renewable energy sources.

@joseph_githinji I think targets should not be put up just for the sake of it.They should be met.

Highly disagree. France is adopting sustainable energy targets not only new RE. This includes nuclear which much more logical. Nuclear is one of the largest clean energy sources in Europe. This story is misleading and pushed by anti-science and anti-nuclear groups.

@johnte_ndeto It's now or never, they need to spearhead policies and laws that should transition the entire process of being a net zero emission state.

Many countries are not taking the targets as seriously as they must. It is very frustrating to see countries trying to find work arounds the scope 3 emissions. Canada, where I live is building new pipelines, restarting refineries, and tripling production for export. These are criminal acts against future generations really. I hope France and others start acting on commitments so that economics are not used to disadvantage some and benefit rule breakers, even in the short term. Good luck in France! I need to post about Canada. It would make France look more of a shining example but I appreciate the EU is striving harder than North America.
