Landowners invited to host solar and wind along 930km 'clean energy corridor

Landholders in Central Western Queensland are encouraged to participate in a new clean energy initiative involving a high voltage transmission line project connecting Hughenden to Biloela. The project, known as the RAPAD Power Grid, aims to facilitate renewable energy projects along the transmission line route, potentially hosting 5.2GW of renewable energy and incorporating battery storage. The initiative seeks expressions of interest from landholders and communities to engage in renewable energy development. This project signifies a local effort to harness renewable energy resources for economic, social, and environmental benefits in the region and contribute to Queensland's renewable energy goals.
It's great to see initiatives like the RAPAD Power Grid project driving local engagement and collaboration to unlock renewable energy potential. Such projects not only contribute to sustainable development but also pave the way for a greener future by aligning with renewable energy targets and promoting green industries.

Faster setting up and expanding the transmission network is one of the biggest challenge of the energy supply and distribution sector. Resolving the land issues may take even more than decade. Inviting land owners across an energy corridor is a smart thinking and if it is positively responded by the land owners then it shall be an inspiring model. Getting the land owners seamlessly is the key challenge. It will be great to enjoy the success.
