Climate warning

Record-breaking temperature of 46.8°C is seen in Valencia during third Spanish heatwave.

Local residents of the Spanish city of Valencia say the city is 'unliveable' due to the extreme heat which has made living conditions miserable in the Mediterranean coastal city. The city broke a heat record on 10th August 2023 when it hit 46.8°C. Eight areas around the cities of Valencia and Murcia are on red alert meaning extreme risk due to heat. The increase in heatwaves as well as their increasing duration and intensity is due to climate change.According to the European Forest Fire Information System, more than 1,300 ha have burned in less than a week in Spain.Nearly 71,000 ha have been burned since the start of the year.

@ Richard Orengo: I think this climate warning must be directed to the Spanish Government/Pedro Sanchez, as Felipe VI has no authority and has demonstrated very little interest in the Spanish people and their wellbeing.
