The Kenya Forest Service, in partnership with the Kenya National Highway Authority and Kinale Community Forest

The Kenya Forest Service, in partnership with the Kenya National Highway Authority and Kinale Community Forest Association has today planted more than 25,000 trees in Kinale Forest. This initiative is aimed at replenishing the forest after the recent harvest of mature plantation and carbon offsetting. The Service is keen on planting and protecting trees, particularly in deforested or degraded areas, this is a valuable strategy for mitigating climate change and achieving carbon offset goals. Today's tree planting exercise is part of the conserted and accelerated activities across the country and, is line with the government agenda of planting 15 billion trees by the year 2032. Mr. Francis Kariuki who represented the CCF called on the CFA members to look after trees as they farm their potatoes and maize, through the PELIS system. Engineer Ezekiel Fukwo-Director Highway Design and Safety KeNHA on his part urged for nurturing of trees not just planting. The CEC Environment Kiambu county called on KFS to broaden the tree planting activities to school and ECDs. Present were senior KFS officers from the headquarters, County Forest officers, local Administration, County Government officials, CFA officially and local community. #JazaMiti https://www.facebook.com/100064520599052/posts/721484506678896/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v

The aim should be planting, nurturing and protecting.
