Landfill Diversion and Circular Economy Solutions

Turning our waste into a resource at BINGO, they’re committed to keeping our waste out of landfill through their advanced recycling centres. They are investing in new technology to increase recovery rates - plus they process materials for resale and reuse. That’s good for the environment and good for business. Landfill diversion is all about turning waste into a resource, by keeping materials out of landfill and recycling these for a new purpose. The measure of how much waste is recycled or recovered and doesn’t end up in landfill, is called a diversion rate. At BINGO, they’re targeting diversion rates of greater than 75% and they’re achieving this through investing in new separation technology to increase resource recovery. BINGO independently verify their diversion rates – this is industry leading. As part of their “beyond compliance” approach, they commissioned asset auditors Arcadis to undertake an independent verification of resource recovery rates. The five materials they reprocess are: Brick & Concrete Steel Timber Green Waste Paper & Cardboard The products they produce from the recovered materials: Road Base (Base material: Brick & Concrete) Scrap Metal (Base material: Steel) Mulch (Base material: Timber) Compost (Base material: Green Waste) Recycled Cardboard (Base material: Paper & Cardboard) The materials that they recover create a closed loop material flow that feeds back into the building lifecycle. They are used for civil works, infrastructure projects, landscaping, residential and housing. https://www.bingoindustries.com.au/sustainability/environment/diversion-and-circular-economy We would love to hear more of BINGO INDUSTRIES plans to move Australia towards a circular economy, please join our community on We Don't Have Time. 💚♻️ https://youtu.be/R_pqcIQZ3-s
