The world's first bank to launch climate emission dashboard

SEB launched Climate and Sustainability Dashboard for all customers in the Nordics last week.
SEB customers can now access climate data for stocks on Nordic stock exchanges, allowing them to consider information on companies' climate impact, greenhouse gas emissions, gender equality, and other sustainability factors when making investments.
Sustainability data is presented in the SEB mobile app and online banking, with a sustainability tab in the detailed view of each stock, providing an overview of the company's compliance with the Paris Agreement, its estimated contribution to global warming, gender equality, and adherence to guidelines on human rights and working conditions. SEB has classified companies into four categories based on their compliance with the Paris Agreement, with green category 1 stocks being those approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. The sustainability data is primarily sourced from analysis firm ISS ESG and supplemented with data from the Net Zero Banking Alliance and the Net Zero Insurance Alliance, based on scientific methods reviewed by the UN.
To my knowledge, this is the first bank that has done this. This is a great initiative and something every bank should do for all shares in the world!

Encouraging. I hope the other banks should borrow a leaf from SEB and do what's noble and rightful.

I do not think that gender equality should be part of it. The person who's doing the job obviously knows what they are doing regardless if they are male or female. So everyone needs to get up to date and accept the fact that there are women who want to be part of the work force. I can guarantee that there are men out there who would love to stay home with the kids. If their doing the job right, then pay them what they have earned.

Great initiative! But I am deeply worried about SEB's huge financing (32 BSEK) of oil drilling projects in the extremely sensitive Arctic ocean... https://fairfinanceguide.se/senaste-nytt/2022/svenska-banker-i-arktis/

Good move from SEB! Maybe the next one can be to stop investing in fossil fuels and carbon bombs around the world
