Global warming disastrous effects continue to take it's tall in food insecurity especially in Africa where farming activities are not highly mechanised. This phenomenon leaves thousands and thousands without food to eat besides a myriad of infections due to waterborne diseases . To mitigate against this sad state of affairs, resilience should be built around drought resistant crop varieties with quicker maturity and of high nutritional value , for instance, cassava, sweet potatoes ,english potatoes and yams just to mention the most common tubers that have traditionally stood the test of time as nutritious yet drought resistant.
The best strategy to reach this goal is to pump more funds in research for more resistant varieties through all stakeholders involvement. In the meantime more greener energy solutions through renewable sources of energy is the best solution for a more robust food security globally
