🌍 On June 16, 2024, a catastrophic mudslide hit Baños, #Ecuador following intense rainfall.

A disaster ensued as the landslide struck three vehicles, two residences, and a bus, resulting in a minimum of six fatalities and 30 individuals unaccounted for. Roads and bridges suffered damage, rivers burst their banks, and floods ravaged the nation.

The impact of #ClimateChange is currently causing widespread devastation.

It is imperative that we bring together our most brilliant minds in a worldwide #scientific institution and establish an International Disaster Alert and Rescue Service.
